February Favorites

This post is overdue. We're the 7th of March and I planned on posting this earlier but things have been crazy. You know that saying "when it rains it pours"? Well that's a true statement. My husband has been battling a bad cold so it's been hard for me to get much done. I've been dealing with my wrist pain issues. I was supposed to get an MRI and nerve test done Thursday but there was a mix up with the scheduling and neither test was done. I have to wait until later this month to get them done. It's so frustrating but I'm taking a new medication and so far it's helping. I have less pain and my … [Continue reading...]

Happy Cupcake Stamp Watercolor Art

Today is a special day. I had the awesome opportunity to get together with many other cookie artists to surprise Krista of Drawn with Character. Krista is designing stamps for Whimsy Stamps and she just launched her first designs. At the time I purchased mine she had three designs and I got them all. Now she has seven designs available. Today we are flooding social media with projects we made using her stamps as a show of support for her new venture. If you search Facebook and Instagram for #drawnwithcharacter you can see everyone's projects. You'll find a mix of decorated cookies and … [Continue reading...]

Slice of Life Sundays: 2-15-15

Hello friends. Hope you're having a good Sunday. It's gloomy here and it's making me want to be lazy but we have so much to do today including meeting some friends for lunch. We haven't seen them since November. It's been too long. I also want to go to Ikea and get a Raskog cart. These carts used to be $49.99 but I found out from a friend that they are $29.99 now. I put off getting one because I thought they were too expensive. Now the price is right. … [Continue reading...]

Valentine’s Day Card

Happy Valentine's Day! I wanted to share the card that I made for my husband with you. I've been getting Simon Says Stamp's Card Kit subscriptions for several months now. Always with the intention of making lots of cards but to be honest most of the kits are still sitting unused. When February's kit arrived I knew I had to use it to make my husband a card instead of purchasing one. … [Continue reading...]

Slice of Life Sundays: 2-8-15

It's been forever and a day since I've checked in with you guys. I'm so sorry. To say that I'm in a funk is an understatement. I always go through phases where I feel motivated and not motivated. This phase of non-motivation has been the longest one yet I think. A dear friend recently talked about creativity having ebbs and flows and I can see that it's so true. I've never really considered myself a creative type until four years ago when I discovered cookie decorating. I took art in high school but wasn't really an artist. My sister was the artist in the family and I was the math whiz. I'm … [Continue reading...]

December Favorites

We're just about halfway through January and I'm just now getting around to posting my December favorites but you'll forgive me right? I was really loving beauty products in December and wanted to put this post together because these are some of the best products I've ever used and you may discover a new favorite from this list. 1) EcoTools Pure Complexion Face Sponge - I don't think sponge is the right description for this because it's unlike any sponge I've ever felt before. It's actually better known as a konjac sponge. When you first open the package it feels hard as a rock but … [Continue reading...]

Slice of Life Sundays: 1-11-15

Hello dolls. Lol! Channeling my inner Kardashian. It's been awhile since I've done a Slice of Life post. My last one was about Zoe and I haven't been able to do another one until now. I took a much needed vacation this week and went to visit my parents. My husband and I had a great time. It was great to get away from our house which was feeling sad for the past few weeks. It still felt different when we got back but we are healing from our loss and getting better every day. We've actually been contemplating getting another dog because Pepper seems so sad without Zoe. It's just such a big … [Continue reading...]

Pizza Cookies & A New Year

I'm sorry for my absence from the blog. If you've read my last post then you know that we just lost one of our dogs, Zoe, to cancer. It has only been two and a half weeks so I'm still out of sorts. I'm slowly trying to come out of the fog that I've been in. Truthfully blogging and my Etsy shop have been the last things on my mind. I have a few Valentine's Day stencil designs I've created but I'm not going to list them until I get back from vacation. We'll be visiting my parents next week. It's a trip that I've been longing for. Work has been so stressful the last six months. Then the last two … [Continue reading...]

Slice of Life Sundays: 12-13-14 {A Sad Farewell}

Today is a very sad day. As was yesterday and the day before. On Friday our sweet girl Zoe lost her battle with cancer. If you've read my past Slice of Life Sundays posts then you know that we've been fighting to keep her going. Unfortunately her body didn't have the strength to continue fighting. On Monday evening she left some food in her bowl. This is totally out of character as she lived for food. In fact we have tried every slow feed product made because she always ate so fast. I immediately grew concerned but since she was still eating we figured she was just having a rough day. … [Continue reading...]
