One Cool Pop Father’s Day Card

I feel like the white rabbit. Always late to the party. I swear one day I'll get my act together but if you're a long time follower of the blog then you know that I'm probably late posting ideas 95% of the time. This one is no exception. Father's Day has come and gone but I was determined to still get this post up and not save it for next year. I made a stencil for Father's Day that was intended to go with a set of cookies. Popsicle cookies to be exact. It says One Cool Pop. Brilliant right? Well those cookies never happened and I didn't list the stencil on time in my shop so I was just … [Continue reading...]

Pantry Makeover

Hello there. It's been forever and a day since I've done a post. I won't get into detail but I've got some family stuff going on with my parents so it's been a difficult time for me to concentrate on blogging. They're fine. Nothing life threatening. Just getting older and I worry so much about them. Ever since I've been seeing a new acupuncturist I've been feeling a lot better and have had a lot more energy to do things around my house. One thing that was in desperate need of cleaning was my pantry. It was a complete disaster zone. It got to the point where I didn't work on purging it … [Continue reading...]

Slice of Life Sundays: 5-31-15

I can't believe it's the last day of May. Pretty soon we'll be seeing Christmas stuff in the stores which is crazy. I think last year Hobby Lobby was clearing their shelves and getting ready in June. I had planned a Hobby Lobby visit yesterday but didn't make it because more horrendous storms blew in. The lightning, thunder and rain were crazy. I was just happy to make it home safely. I went to acupuncture yesterday. I'm going to a new place. The other lady I was seeing started being kind of quackish. The place I'm going now is run by a husband and wife. The office is very clean and zen. … [Continue reading...]

Let’s Chat

let's chat

Hello there. How's the weather in your neck of the woods? Houston has gotten some crazy rain and had horrible flooding. I'm sure many of you have seen pictures and videos on the news. Thankfully I live away from the flooded areas. We just got torrential rains last night with horrible thunder and lightning. Thankful to not be dealing with flooding. I thought I'd pop in and do a post to just chat. Are you a person that hinders your own growth? I certainly am and wanted to talk about it. When I started blogging back in 2011 it was simply a blog to share my cookie creations with family, friends … [Continue reading...]

Mother’s Day Card

I looked at the calendar a couple of days ago and realized that this Sunday is Mother's Day. I panicked. I thought it was next week. I had to make a card for my Mother stat. A watercolored background is one of the simplest ways to add impact to a card I've found. I also love incorporating dies for sentiments and added features. When I need a quick card it's the way to go. … [Continue reading...]

April Favorites

I think I say this every month but I can't believe that a new month is already upon us. I missed doing a favorites post last month so this post is a combination of March and April Favorites. Let's get to it. 1) Serial Podcast -- This was one of my March favorites that I didn't post about last month. To say that I was obsessed with this podcast is an understatement. I finished it in two days. I was late discovering this podcast as it was a sensation when it first began airing in October of 2014. It follows the case of a murdered high school student named Hae Min Lee. The murder occurred … [Continue reading...]

Princess Baby Shower Cookies

I recently completed some princess baby shower cookies for a friend and wanted to share them with you. When I've made cookies in the past I've always been concerned with being so innovative and creative with my designs that it's held me back. I spent so much time contemplating how to make my cookies different from others that I stood in the way of my own creative process. I'm trying to step away from that mentality and focus instead on simpler designs with a clean look to them. You can spend a few hours on cookies or a few gazillion hours and the end result is the same. They end up … [Continue reading...]

Slice of Life Sundays: 4-19-15

It's been a hot minute since I've done one of these posts. I was busy getting a bunch of stencils made for an event that I was helping sponsor. The event was yesterday. I hope that the attendees liked my stencils. It's a challenge trying to grow a small business and also working a full-time job. I also love blogging and I've been putting my blogging on the back burner as I've been working on stencils and fulfilling orders. It's driving me nuts because the desire to blog is so strong. It's definitely challenging trying to balance everything that I want to do in terms of blogging and my stencil … [Continue reading...]

Easter Goodie Bag

I know I've been extremely absent from the blog with the exception of a Slice of Life post here & there as well as a random post on occassion. I'm trying my best to get back to a schedule of posting more regularly. For those that are still following and sticking with me I really appreciate it. When I lost my dog in December it hit me like a freight train. First, her illness that started the first day of November literally came out of nowhere. There were no signs that anything was wrong. She literally went from normal to very sick overnight. Then dealing  with her leukemia diagnosis and … [Continue reading...]

Slice of Life Sundays: 3-22-15

It's officially spring! I love this time of year so much. Friday was a really gloomy day so it didn't feel like spring at all. Then yesterday it rained pretty much all day long so it felt even less like spring. Today the sun is out and it looks like it's going to be a nice day. Hallelujah! We've got several errands to run so this weather will be great to be out in. I'm keeping today's post short because I need to get a stencil order filled and get going with our errands. … [Continue reading...]
