October Favorites

Another month has come and gone. We’re in my favorite month of the year but before we celebrate all things November I want to share my October favorites.

1) Joseph Joseph Adjustable Rolling Pin – I actually love this rolling pin all year round but wanted to include it in my October favorites. I’ve tried rolling my cookie dough in many ways but when I discovered the Joseph Joseph rolling pin there was no looking back. The adjustable guides allow you to perfectly roll out your dough every time. In case you’re wondering I love to roll my dough between two pieces of parchment paper for easy cleanup.

2) Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor in Party Pink – I’ve never been much of a red lip girl. Instead I love mauves, plums and berry shades. During the fall I like a really pretty berry shade if it’s the right shade. I discovered Party Pink and absolutely love it! It’s going to be my go to shade this fall. I discovered it through one of my favorite makeup gurus on YouTube here. This shade is a dupe for MAC’s Craving. I’m a huge fan of MAC lipsticks but not their price. Anytime you can find a drugstore dupe it’s a total win.

3) NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base – This is my absolute favorite eyeshadow base ever! I have extremely oily skin and my eyelids are no exception. Many products that claim to not crease will crease on my eyes. I had heard so many good things about Too Faced Shadow Insurance and unfortunately it did not hold up on my eyes. By mid afternoon my lids were a creasy mess. I was on the hunt for a better base. I heard that NARS was great if you have oily lids. I was skeptical but gave it a try. It’s a game changer people. My eyeshadow stays put all day with this base. If you’re struggling with your eyeshadow staying put I encourage you to give this a try.

4) Pumpkin Spice Oreos – One look on Pinterest and you’ll see twenty million recipes for pumpkin spice fill in the blank. I love pumpkin spice but not all recipes are good. I was skeptical when I purchased these because I wasn’t sure if they would be good or not. Let me tell you they are amazing!!!! They combine the perfect blend of pumpkin spice with the traditional golden Oreo cookie. They are wonderful. Coming off a 24 day challenge I wasn’t supposed to be indulging in sweets but I had to try them. Sorry I’m not sorry.

5) How to Get Away with Murder – This show airs on Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC. I was hooked from the first show. It’s about a law professor, Annalise Keating, who teaches a class called “How to Get Away with Murder”. During her class students compete to be the top four students that will work closely with her in her law firm. The show flashes forward and you learn that there’s a murder. Then we are taken back in time to find out how the murder happened and how the students are involved in applying what they have learned in class to this real life case. It’s full of suspense and drama and the acting is amazing. Viola Davis is wonderful in her role as Annalise Keating. You’ll be left saying OMG watching this show.

6) Scandal – I’ve been a fan of this show since season two. Sadly I missed season one but it doesn’t matter. I was able to pick it up without feeling like I missed anything. There’s a constant pull between Fitz and Jake, the two men in Olivia’s life, and we never know which way her heart will lead her. There’s plenty of sex, lies, coverups, drama and suspense in this show. I’m totally team Jake by the way and this season there’s a major scandal that involves him. I’m so upset. The truth must come out. It has to. If you’ve never watched this show you’re totally missing out on some of the best acting and storyline around. Scandal airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on ABC.

Thanks for stopping by. I’d love to hear what your October favorites were.

  1. Fun list!

Re: Scandal, I really wish Olivia would just give it up with Fitz and choose Jake. But, I know that probably doesn’t make for the juiciest TV. Haha.
