plan with me fall theme 2

Slice of Life Sundays: 9-22-13

I feel like Alice in Wonderland falling down the rabbit hole. It seems like lately there aren’t enough days in a week or hours in a day to get everything done that I have planned in my mind to do. So for the sake of my sanity I’ve learned to let things go. If summer is ending and I didn’t get to work on the fun designs I had planned then I just keep them filed away for next year. Operation Fall is in full force now and my goal is to get as much done as I can before the holidays are here. I may not get to them all but I’m going to give it a valiant effort.

I’m working on some changes to the blog which has caused my mind to be so focused on it that I can’t think of much else right now. I won’t go into detail now because I’m still ironing out the final details but I’m super excited about it and scared all at the same time. Hopefully by the end of the month it will all be finished and you’ll see the change.

I don’t know where my mind was last week when I said that this Wednesday was the season finale of The Bridge. Duh! There are still two more episode left. This week’s episode had me so upset. It was intense and heart breaking.

Did you watch Dancing with the Stars? I was pleasantly surprised with week one. I’ll be honest and tell you that when the cast was announced I was not very thrilled. There really wasn’t a stand out star that made you say “I have to watch them”. I’m such a huge fan of the show that I watch no matter who’s on and week one changed my mind about the cast members. I think this is going to be a good season. I’m a huge fan of Derek Hough and always want him to win no matter who he’s paired with. Boy o’ boy he did not disappoint with his choreography Monday. He was amazing and his partner Amber Riley can move. Wow! I was amazed at their week one scores. They’re definitely a stand out couple and everyone needs to watch out for them. Another stand out for me was Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. I’ve seen some comments here and there by people wondering why she was put on the show. I don’t care what anyone says. I love Snooki! I’m a reality TV show junkie and watched the Jersey Shore. I hope that she does well on the show. With 3.9 million Instagram followers I think she’ll be on for awhile.

My husband and I are home bodies and prefer waiting to watch movies until they are out on video. We rented World War Z and sadly I was disappointed. The previews made the movie look so much better than it actually was. It wasn’t horrible but just a let down. We also watched Star Trek Into Darkness. Now considering the fact that I’ve never been a Treky {see I don’t even now if that’s how you spell it} I loved the movie. It was so full of action.

Here’s a wrap up of this week’s posts in cased you missed them:

Sweet Talk: The Baked Equation–this week we met Melissa, an Arizona baker who is making a difference with her baking through her charity Micah 6:8 Sudan

I promise that I will get working on more tutorials soon. Once my blog project is completed and I know that it works I will get back on the train.

Here’s what caught my eye this week in blog land & on Pinterest:

Slow Cooker Garlic Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes {Mom on Timeout} – I really want to try these. They look delicious.

Smoky Bacon & Corn Chowder {Creme de la Crumb} – This just screams comfort to me. I want to try this when the first cold front comes in.

Banana Nut Cake with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting {It Bakes Me Happy} – I’m the queen of letting bananas go bad. Instead of tossing them out I really need to make one of these cakes. Cake just make me happy.

The Best Turkey Chili You’ll Ever Taste {Eat Yourself Skinny} – This immediately got pinned because not only does it look great but, let’s face it, I need to be eating lighter if I plan on losing any weight.

How to Add a Ghost to Any Halloween Cookie {Semi Sweet Designs} – Mike is just brilliant and inspiring. Posts like this get my creative juices flowing and make me want to get working on new designs.

Top 10 Must See New Fall Shows 2013 {Not Your Momma’s Cookie} – I’m a TV junkie and Jennifer has great taste in not only food but in television shows. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of these shows.

That’s a wrap. I think I’ve talked your ear off enough. Have a wonderful week!

I’m partying here.

  1. I am surprised that I enjoyed this season’s cast of Dancing with the Stars…they are all so good, even the “bad” dancers are great. What I am really excited about is the two hour season premier of Grey’s Anatomy this Thursday.

  2. My hubby refuses to see World War Z because he really enjoyed the book and has heard that the movie is NOTHING like the book at all! Plus, our friends haven’t been very impressed with it.

We went to see Prisoners this weekend, as I was feeling kind of overwhelmed/down with some additional pregnancy complications, and it was very good! We normally wait for things to come out on video too, but we decided to get some date time in before the baby comes 🙂

I feel you on feeling overwhelmed – just file away those awesome ideas for next year! 🙂
