Mermaid Tail Cookies

Hi friends! Today I’m sharing the mermaid tail cookies I made for my neighbor’s 2nd annual mermaid party.

I don’t own a mermaid tail cutter so I used a whale cutter and trimmed a little off the top. I believe I’ve mentioned this before but it’s extremely frustrating when you own so many cookie cutters but you don’t seem to ever have the one you need. It’s my goal to not spend anymore money on cutters and find ways to use what I have in my collection. I just don’t have the room in my house for more cutters.

To give the cookies the “mermaid” look I used a fish scale stencil and airbrushed them with pearl sheen airbrush color. Then I used a leaf tip to add the fins or flippers. Please excuse me if my mermaid anatomy is not precise. Also, I did my best taking pictures to show the sheen but it’s so hard to capture what it truly looks like in person.

I made a quick video of the process so you can see everything better in action.

Thanks for stopping by today!
