One Cool Pop Father’s Day Card

I feel like the white rabbit. Always late to the party. I swear one day I’ll get my act together but if you’re a long time follower of the blog then you know that I’m probably late posting ideas 95% of the time. This one is no exception. Father’s Day has come and gone but I was determined to still get this post up and not save it for next year.

I made a stencil for Father’s Day that was intended to go with a set of cookies. Popsicle cookies to be exact. It says One Cool Pop. Brilliant right? Well those cookies never happened and I didn’t list the stencil on time in my shop so I was just going to let it go until next year. Then an idea came into my head to use the stencil to make a Father’s Day card for my dad and I had the perfect stamp set to go with the stencil.

It’s been my intention all along when I started selling stencils to show how they work not only for cookies but for crafting as well. Crafting holds a special place in my heart because I got started with it as a young girl with my mother. She always loved to craft and I wanted to help her. I have fond memories of us making things together.

So I had to send my dad an e-card (gasp, just kidding) so that he received a card on the day of but this one is making it’s way to him. Better late than never. That’s like a motto I live by a lot.

I love how it came out. I filmed a process video while making the card. It captures an epic fail that I recovered from and was able to salvage the card. I feel like card making is all about being flexible and changing things up when your original idea doesn’t go quite as planned.

I hope you like the card and that you enjoy the video. Supplies are listed below.

Have a great week! Also, I’d love for you to visit my shop here. The One Cool Pop stencil is listed there.

  2. Kim,
I love the card! lol, I find that I am either way too on top of it and post my themed crafts too early – or I have lagged behind again, and didn’t bother to come up with anything at all! I’m enjoying being a new fan of The Cookie Puzzle!

  5. I love double duty, Melissa! And what a fun take on your Father’s Day card. Nice recovery, I’d say 30-40 percent of my cards, have a recovery on them! I was too busy this year, to get my FD cards out into the mail. And I’m having a hate relationship with my very smart HP 7520 ? super duper photo printer, that won’t print on 4×6 photo paper no matter how many times I plug that info in from the desk top computer!! So, I also had nothing to put inside my cards either, that I handed out on FD to my hubs, son and son in law. I’ve got to get on that today. At this point I’m going with, it’s the thought that counts. LOL I couldn’t get it to work on Mother’s day either, guess I’m going to have to call someone at HP. Bless those mom who taught us how to craft, sew, cook, love, etc. Now that I’m a Nana, I realize just how much my mother taught me, without me even knowing. ((Crafty Mama Hugs))

  1. […] Last year I made a card for my dad using a stencil I made that says “One Cool Pop”. When I made the stencil my original intention was to make cookies to go along with it. For reasons that I can’t remember now I didn’t make the cookies and instead threw a quick card together. You can see the card here. […]
