February Favorites

This post is overdue. We’re the 7th of March and I planned on posting this earlier but things have been crazy. You know that saying “when it rains it pours”? Well that’s a true statement. My husband has been battling a bad cold so it’s been hard for me to get much done. I’ve been dealing with my wrist pain issues. I was supposed to get an MRI and nerve test done Thursday but there was a mix up with the scheduling and neither test was done. I have to wait until later this month to get them done. It’s so frustrating but I’m taking a new medication and so far it’s helping. I have less pain and my mobility is coming back. This is great news. Okay on to my favorites.

February-Favorites

1) The Walking Dead – This show has been a long time favorite not just a monthly favorite. I’ve been watching since the beginning. I’m totally invested in the characters and their story lines. I won’t lie to you, there have been some slow episodes throughout the seasons but they haven’t deterred me from keeping with the show. February the 5th season started back up from it’s midseason break. The group has appeared to find a “safe” place to live and settle down but I’m not buying it. Something is just not right about that community. As the season finale approaches we’ll find out if it’s really what it appears to be.

2) Total Divas – This is one of those guilty pleasure type shows. I love watching the women be catty with each other. It’s also nice to see a behind the scenes of the WWE. Plus Nikki Bella is dating John Cena so I get to see him too. Lol!

3) L’Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray – This spray is awesome. I start work at 6:30 in the morning which means I’m leaving my house by 5:40-5:45. I’m not a morning person at all. You’ll usually find me hitting my snooze button over and over until I absolutely have to get up. Hair and makeup need to be quick in the morning. This spray helps your hair blow dry faster and it really works. I have very fine hair so my hair tends to dry quick anyway but I’ve been letting it grow out so it’s been taking longer and longer to dry. I love having this spray to help speed the process along. It’s inexpensive too. I believe I purchased it for $4.99 plus it was buy one get one free so I got number 5 below with it.

4) Batiste Dry Shampoo – I’ve tried several dry shampoos and none compare to this one. It is amazing. Let me start by saying that the thought of not washing my hair grosses me out but I’ve heard that if you don’t wash it everyday it will begin to balance out. I have really greasy hair. I wake up every morning a greasy mess. It’s been a challenge to not wash my hair but I’ve managed to stick to a schedule of only washing it every other day. I’m starting to see that I’m producing less oils. I guess it’s true that over washing causes your hair to produce too much oil. This dry shampoo absorbs all the excess oil, smells good and also adds volume. I got the tinted version since I have dark hair and I’ve heard the regular version can leave a white cast. The colored one blends right in with my hair but I think my next purchase will be the lighter one for brunettes. I think the dark & deep brown is a bit too dark for me. The only downside to the tinted version is that it does leave color on your scalp. If you have an itch and scratch you’ll see color under your nails. That kind of bugs me but it’s worth dealing with for how good this product is.

5) L’Oreal Boost It Blow Out Heatspray – This spray is not only a heat protectant but a volumizer as well. I have very fine hair so I don’t get super volume out of this product but there’s just something about how my hair looks after blow drying with it that I like so I’m saying it’s a favorite.

6) Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation – I’ve tried many foundations and when I say many I mean a lot. Both high end and drugstore. I couldn’t really call any a favorite until now. After using this product for a while I’ve decided that it is my favorite foundation. There’s just something about how my skin looks using it. I feel like my skin is even and looks nice. It looks healthy. I like to apply it with a damp beauty blender. It goes on the skin nicely. If you haven’t given this foundation a try you might want to try it. I hope you’ll like it as much as I do.

7) Dove Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Wash in Pistachio Cream with Magnolia – This body wash is the bomb! I’ve been a long time fan of Dove’s body washes and when I came across this scent I wanted to try it. I thought the combination of pistachios and magnolia was interesting. All I can say is that it is amazing. I feel like it’s creamier and more moisturizing than some of the other formulas. It lathers very nicely and the smell is amazing. A little goes a long way. I think this is going to be a favorite for a very long time.

Well that’s all my favorites from February. I’d love to hear what your favorites are.
