Slice of Life Sundays: 10-26-14

slice-of-life-sundays

Happy Sunday friends. Hope you’re having a great weekend. I’ve been busy doing some much needed cleaning around the house. I was sick most of last week with a cold so not much got done.

Yesterday I had lunch with my sister and went shopping for a Halloween costume. It’s so frustrating when the “adult” size costumes are so tiny and they don’t have plus sizes available. I’m left to do a DIY costume. I’m going for a Day of the Dead look but I don’t want to wear a dress or skirt. Instead I’ll be wearing leggings and a tutu. I have to go to the store and get some tulle to make the tutu. I hate dressing up for Halloween and only do so for a friend. This is the third year that we are attending her party where costumes are mandatory. I’m still not sure if I’ll be painting my face or wearing the mask I picked up. I’m a spur of the moment type person which is not good because if I’m going to paint my face I need to practice it.

I have this chili stew in the crockpot right now. It looks so good. I hope it tastes as good as it looks. This is the time of year when I want to make a lot of chili, soup and stews. There’s nothing more comforting. Do you have a favorite crockpot recipe? I’d love to hear what you’re loving.

You may have noticed that I’ve been slacking a little in the blogging department. I apologize for this but work has been keeping me busy and I’ve also been working behind the scenes on my Etsy shop. I used to have an Etsy shop selling key fobs but I let it go. It just wasn’t doing well. After a lot of encouragement from my best friend Kim I finally decided to open a shop again. I will mainly be selling stencils but would also like to offer some decals and artwork. I’m working hard on getting the listings ready before I launch the shop. I have tons of designs already done but it takes time to get the listings ready. I also like to test the stencils before I offer them for sale. I hope to be up and running the first week of November.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :).

  1. I am soooo excited for you…I can not wait for your shop to open and get the opportunity to buy your stencils…I just know that they will be amazing and that they will allow me to make beautiful cookies, but quickly and simply…which is what I love! Hugs and Love!

  2. I bet your Dawn of the Dead costume and tutu will be very cute! I don’t have a crock-pot recipe. In fact last time, I made myself some soup after a long bike ride and I told hubby there was extra if he wanted some soup. He said he already had soup and my response was “I don’t like that soup, I only like REAL soup.. you know, from a CAN” 馃槈 yep, that’s about the extent of my cooking most nights (his was from a box) 馃槈 Cristin
