Happy Sunday! Hope you’re having a great weekend. I’ve spent mine relaxing. Life has been so crazy busy for me lately that when the weekends roll around I just want to relax. I haven’t been working on any new blog material because I just haven’t had time. I do have some older projects that I can share. I just need to get the posts written.
I have had time to squeeze in watching my favorite shows. Lol! Falling Skies, The Bridge, So You Think You Can Dance and America’s Got Talent are back on. There are more that I’m forgetting but I’m still waking up.
Are you familiar with Online Blog Con? I attended last year and I’ll be attending again this year. There’s still time to register here. The great thing about the conference is that it’s all online. You don’t have to leave your house. You can view everything in your PJ’s & at whatever time works for you. I’m not one of those bloggers that wants to grow my blog into some major business with sponsored posts & such so not all the topics are for me but I did learn useful information last year. I’m hoping this year I’ll learn some great things too. Speaking of sponsored posts do they annoy you? As a blogger I totally understand why bloggers do them but as a reader of blogs I sometimes find them quite irritating. A lot of them feel forced and not true to the person’s blog. Like I said I have no plans to ever do them. The only way I would if it was something that I’m totally passionate about but I just don’t see myself ever doing them. My blog may stay small forever but that’s ok. I’d rather grow organically.
I’ve read some blog posts recently that have really stuck with me. I can’t find them to link them here but if I find them again I will. Basically they are posts that talk about posting quality posts instead of focusing on quantity. That it’s better to post fewer times but those posts are well written and have great content than to post several times a week for the sake of posting and the posts feel forced. As I’m approaching my 3rd year anniversary of blogging I’ve struggled with this. Some bloggers will tell you that if you don’t post X amount of times a week you will not be a successful blogger. This type of mentality had me feeling less than as a blogger. I felt like I didn’t measure up. Like I wasn’t a real blogger. These feelings are starting to leave. I don’t want to kill myself to post several times a week. I want to post when I can and write a good post.
I really struggled with the decision to do our weekly link party, Party in Your PJs, because I didn’t want it to look like that’s all I do is link parties. Especially if I don’t have a lot of new material going up. I’m really enjoying the parties though. It’s a great way to discover new blogs. If not for the party I would not have met some really great bloggers.
That’s all for today. I have a lot of cleaning to do. Boo! I hate cleaning. Have a great week!
