Today we’re shifting from owls to vampires but not just any vampires. These are vampire sock monkeys. They are probably the most feared of vampires because they draw you in with their cuteness and then suck the life out of you. LOL!
Before I share how I made the cookies, let me show you the inspiration behind the cookies. Last year I purchased this Count Sockula at Target with the sole purpose of trying to translate him onto cookies and I never got around to making them.
These cookies have been on my to do list and I wasn’t going to let them slip by this year.
To make vampire sock monkey cookies you will need:
- black piping and flood icing
- purple piping and flood icing
- red piping and flood icing
- white flood icing
- food color marker in your choice of color (it will get covered up)
Begin by using a food color marker to sketch out your design. Please forgive my sketching abilities. I pipe better than I sketch. You basically just want to give yourself a guide.
Next, outline the hair with black piping icing, the ears with purple piping icing and the mouth with red piping icing. Then add the “yarn” at the top with purple piping icing.
Fill in the mouth with red flood icing, the hair with black flood icing and the ears with purple flood icing. Allow the cookie to dry completely at this point to avoid any possible bleeding issues.
After the cookie has dried fill in the face with white flood icing and let dry completely.
Finish the cookies by adding details to the face and mouth. I defined the hair line a bit more by going over it with a black outline.
That’s it. I think you will find these cookies to be fairly simple and a great addition to your Halloween party.
The cutter used in this project was purchased at Ecrandal.
