Buttercream Icing {Video Tutorial}

Before I share my video tutorial with you I want to talk about the VMA’s. I’m learning more and more that they will show just about anything on TV now. Love it or hate it our world is changing and networks are pushing the line with what is acceptable and not. To me the only reason worth watching the VMA’s was Justin Timberlake and *NSYNC. His performance was the bomb!

Ok enough with my soap box. Let’s talk buttercream. I just made a cake for a co-worker’s birthday and thought it would be fun to film the making of the buttercream. So here it is for your viewing pleasure.

If you’d like the printable recipe you can find it聽here.

Hope you’re having a good week. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the VMA’s.

  1. JT was definitely entertaining – I would love to see him in concert. Katy Perry was great, too. I just love the message in her new song, “Roar.” Happy baking! XO

  2. Love your videos and especially LOVE your buttercream icing. As far as the VMA’s???? Would you believe I forgot they were on!!!!! I did a lot of YouTubing the next day. Loved most of what I seen, but one performance left me pretty speechless. I probably do not need to elaborate on who. Let’s just say the tongue action was ridiculous, among other things 馃槈

  3. Yay for a buttercream video! I didn’t watch the VMAs, but heard about all of the controversy!

  4. You. Are. Awesome. 馃檪 LOVED the video and I’m gonna try your buttercream soon!! So… I, like the rest of the human race was astonished by MC and wanted to quit watching all together until JT came on. I love him. Although his performance was about 87 minutes, I could have watched it about 50 times. 馃檪

  5. Jessica says:

    Is this the icing you used for the rose cake?

  6. I saw your tutorial for the rise swirl cake and loved it! I’ve never did any kind of cake decorating but wanted to try for my daughters birthday cake. I followed your recipe for buttercream icing but it came out to soft like. Whenever I tried to do the roses, they just fell off pretty much. I don’t understand where I went wrong. Do you have any tips?
