This is a rose cake I made for my co-worker’s daughter Bella. She was celebrating her 3rd birthday. Happy Birthday Bella!
Make every day a sweet day!!!
This cake is gorgeous! How did you make the flowers and butterflies? Do you have a tutorial for this cake? Thanks!
Thanks Edy. The flowers and butterflies are made from fondant using plunger cutters. I don’t have a tutorial for the cake since there are so many rose cake tutorials out there. I will consider doing a video on the flower and butterfly embellishments.
Thank you! I’ve never worked with fondant before. On a scale 1-10 (10 being the hardest) how hard is it to make the fondant butterflies and flowers? Thanks in advance!
As a beginner Edy I would say a 2 or 3. Fondant is like playing with play dough. It’s not too difficult and if you mess up you can roll it out again. The best advice I can give you is to just jump in and give it a go. I did add a bit of tylose powder to my fondant to make them dry faster and harder. You can use gum paste which is essentially what adding tylose to fondant creates. Hope this helps.
What tip and technique did you use for those pretty large flowers all over the cake?
